AFT Standards at a Glance

The AFT uses 5 scored events. General and Combat are separate contexts; Combat applicability depends on the resolved rule and occupation context.

General AFT Standards

The General standard requires 60 points on every one of 5 scored events and 300 points overall.

General event scoring resolves the age band and sex-based scoring column from the current ruleset: male uses MC and female uses F. A record result fails when an applicable event is below the event minimum or the total is below the required total.

Combat AFT Standards

The Combat standard uses 60 points per scored event and 350 points overall across 5 scored events. It is not a universal requirement: the Rule Engine resolves whether Combat applies from the personnel category and occupation mapping.

Combat scoring uses MC for both male and female inputs under the current ruleset. The canonical map currently covers 24 Combat specialties; the complete category-aware list is maintained on the Combat MOS page.

The Five AFT Events

These are the current scored events in the canonical scoring dataset:

Age and Scoring Groups

Age determines which published threshold row is used. The current age labels are 17-21, 22-26, 27-31, 32-36, 37-41, 42-46, 47-51, 52-56, 57-61, Over 62. General resolves a sex-specific column, while Combat uses its configured Combat column; the Calculator keeps that context attached to the result.

Profiles and Alternate Events

The current ruleset keeps the base General or Combat standard visible when a Temporary Profile blocks a record AFT. A Permanent Profile can remove prohibited scored events from the normal path and may require an authorized alternate aerobic event.

Alternate aerobic events return GO/NOGO. The current rule sets whether they add points to the AFT total to false; they do not replace the Calculator's profile-aware evaluation.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the AFT passing standards?

The General standard requires 60 points on each of 5 scored events and 300 points overall. The Combat standard requires 60 points on each of 5 scored events and 350 points overall when that rule/context applies.

What is the minimum AFT score?

The minimum General total is 300; the minimum Combat total is 350 when the Combat standard applies. Every applicable event must also meet the 60-point event minimum.

What is the Combat AFT standard?

Combat requires 60 points per event and 350 points overall for its 5-event context. The applicable standard is resolved from personnel category and occupation context.

Is 300 a passing AFT score?

300 satisfies the General total-score condition, but it is a passing result only when every applicable event also meets the 60-point event minimum and the applicable profile rules are satisfied.

Is 350 required for everyone?

No. 350 is the Combat total requirement only when the resolved rule/context requires Combat; it is not universal.

Are AFT standards different by age?

Age determines the scoring group used for event thresholds. The current age labels are 17-21, 22-26, 27-31, 32-36, 37-41, 42-46, 47-51, 52-56, 57-61, Over 62; age and sex are resolved according to the General or Combat scoring context.

What happens if one AFT event is below 60 points?

The event-level minimum is not satisfied, so the record result cannot pass even if the total reaches the applicable total requirement.

How do profiles affect AFT standards?

A Temporary Profile makes a record AFT not eligible while the base standard remains visible for context. A Permanent Profile can change the scored-event path and may require an authorized alternate aerobic event; the Calculator evaluates those branches.
