A calculator built to show its work
AFT Calculator is an independent informational tool for understanding the current AFT standard, score, and source trail that apply to a user's inputs.
How the calculator works
The product first resolves the personnel category and occupation together, then derives the applicable General or Combat context. Age, sex, profile, prohibited events, and performance are evaluated through the same centralized Rule Engine.
Canonical data and shared rule selectors power the Calculator, Score Chart, and Goal Simulator. Page content explains the result but does not create a second scoring system.
Accuracy before certainty
Published scoring thresholds are used as published. A point value without an official threshold is shown as No official threshold rather than being interpolated or mathematically filled in.
Manual Review is a valid product outcome. It prevents the interface from turning an unresolved age, occupation, or policy boundary into an assumed PASS or FAIL.
What this tool does not claim
This site is not affiliated with or endorsed by the U.S. Army or Department of Defense. It does not replace official records, authorized personnel decisions, a Soldier's current profile documentation, or current Army guidance.
A calculated result and a Goal Simulator projection are informational outputs. They are not a guarantee of future performance, a training plan, or an official personnel outcome.
Keeping the product current
The ruleset, scoring dataset, occupation dictionary, Combat mapping, and source registry are validated as a connected package. When a source or public rule changes, the product should update the relevant data and tests together.
