Combat AFT Standards
Review how the Combat standard is resolved, scored, and adjusted when a verified occupation uses the Combat context.
Permanent Combat requirement by scored events
The effective total is derived from the scored event count and the ruleset's required average. Each scored event still has to meet the event minimum.
| Scored events | Required total | Event minimum |
|---|---|---|
| 5 scored events | 350 points | 70 minimum per event |
| 4 scored events | 280 points | 70 minimum per event |
| 3 scored events | 210 points | 70 minimum per event |
| 2 scored events | 140 points | 70 minimum per event |
| 1 scored event | 70 points | 70 minimum per event |
Who uses the Combat standard
The Combat context is resolved from the verified personnel category and occupation mapping. An occupation code by itself is not enough to determine the standard because the same code can exist across personnel categories.
Use the Combat MOS page to review the current canonical mapping before relying on a Combat standard explanation.
Combat scoring concepts
Combat event scoring is sex-neutral and age-normed. Each scored event must satisfy its event minimum, and the normal Combat result also evaluates the required total.
The Calculator uses the official scoring dataset for raw performance lookup. It does not replace a published threshold with an estimated value.
Modified Combat requirements
A Permanent Profile can change the number of normally scored events. The effective required total is derived from the scored event count, and each scored event still has to meet the event minimum.
If an aerobic event is prohibited, an authorized alternate may be required. Its result is GO/NOGO and does not add points to the AFT total.
